Taylor, which arrived at Lytfcclton from Lonc'on, both encountered gales during their pi»fc<agr«, And each lont a nun overborn d The Dragon left England on July (5, and all went well until October 1, when in « voilent go-le, a big wave broke abo.ird, and washed tho man at the wheel overboard. Owing to the tremendous sea running at tho time nothing could be done to Have the life of the unfortunate man, who wan a Dane, named Kmil Nauratki. Tho Wai kuto had sailed two days earlier, and on September 13 she fell in with n ho.tvy gale of Tnntan d'Acunha, during which thu main sail was carried away, itriking the carpenter, Jan. Conors, and knocking him overboard. Ho sank almoit immediately, and must havo been killed by the blow. Both vessels aro consigned to tho New Zealand Shipping Company.
