Sydney, October 10. Thk re>ult of the city and suburban elections has been made public today. For St. Leonards Sir Henry Parkes and Mr lyes are elected, debating Mr Dibbs. Mr Wright, Minister of Public Works, also lost his seat. For the city electorates the following members were elected: -Messrs John Davies, Toohoy, Dili fib, Forsythe, Barton, Copeland, Tiurdikiu, Keid, Abigale, O'Connor, Young, and Bethel. For Newcastle Messrs LI031! and Fletcher were returned, defeating Mr Ellis, The net elections so far are decidedly in favour of the Opposition.

October 17. Mr Triekett secured his seat at Paddington. Mr Luscombe has been defeated for Northumberland County. The achocates of local option ha\e a majority of eighteen among the new niember-> returned. Adelaide, October 17. There is little stirring in the produce maiket. Sydnf.y, Monday. Mr Wright has resigned his portfolio as Minister of Mines. It is understood he will retire from political life. (Sir Henry Parkes addressed a public meeting on Saturday evening. He stated that the land legislation winch had been enacted by the Stuart Government will have to be undone by the incoming Parliament.
