As contractors for H.M. Nury her* and in Sydney, large stocks are kept on hand. ' BACON-CURING. The Cooling Chambers for Bacon-curing at the Company's Works in Auckland are now so far advanced th.it this New Industry has been commenced, and choict Hams and Bacon" can be offered, cured on the most modem principle. MEAT-PRESERVING. This branch is equal to an output of 120,0001b5. per diem, and the Company has the greatest confidence in recommending its PRESERVED MEATS As superior to anything of the kind heretofore offered to the public. The Company would specially call attention to the fact that the COMPRESSED CANNED BEEF AND MUTTON, PACKED IN THE SQUARE CAN (The right to which is patented), is the first sample from any part of the world that has been able to compete successfully in the London Market with the best Chicago brands. Hitherto thr Colonial meats packed in the round can 9, although called compressed meats, were only saleable hi the English markets were alow price wai the Hist consideration, but meats of the New Zealand Packing Company, submitted in competition for Admiralty supplies at Deptford Dockyard, were awarded the highest commendation, and placed on the register of accepted brands. The following extract fiom the letter of the Company's Agents in London, the New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), is referred to, who write as follows :—: — "We h.ive the pleasure to hand you herewith an extract from a letter received from the War Oihcr, Auny Department :— " Samples of the Peach Brand of the New Zealand Packing Co.. submitted by you, luuebcen tested and proved, and the Brand will be added to the Selected List of the Dcparcment." Consequent upon the temporary stoppage of production during the transfer of the Compiny s Meat prcser\ing Works fioin Auckland to Waitara, and owing to the fact that the leserve which had been relied upon to meet current demands was taken by the New South Wales Government for the Soudan expedition, the Company haa been unable to comply with numerous demands from customers,' but is now prepaied to execute with piomptitudc all orders with which it may be favoured. WHOLESALE BUTTER DEPOT. The Company is about to open a large Wholesale Butter Depot at their Freezing Woiks, Railway Wharf. Cooling Chambers and the necessary plant are now being prepared.
