THE PAKURANGA HOUNDS.

Tho first meet of the Paknranga hounds took place at Mr Bullock-Webster's place, the Lake, Hamilton, on Tuesday. After partaking of luncheon, an adjournment was made across the Ohaupo road, on to the pro perty fnrmoily in the occupation of Mr C. K. Johnson, but though the country was scoured industriously, no fur was found, and after a couple of hours work the pack returned to Hamilton. There was n \ory small attendance at the hunt, owing piobably t« the shortness of the notice given, but nome good horses followed the hound*, notably those ridden by Mr Bullock-Web>tor, who acted as mabter, Mr Auckland, Mr Picketing, and Mr Loveli. Their poweis were not however put to R very severe test, owing to the cause refened to above. Mr Tom Brown ncted in hia old capacity of huntsman, and Mr Goodman as whip. Tho hounds threw of! at Hautapu yesterday, but although the atteudanco wan much better, their wat very little -<port. Mr W. F. Hell, Hamilton East, offers a reward for the recovery of a horse. lhe privileges in conncition with the Hunt Steeplechase will be at the Horse Haza.ir, Cambridge, on Baturd =y. Huntor and Co. will sell at the post-oflice, Ohaupo, on Wednesday next, the Hth inst., the wholo of the household furmtuie nndrffmts of Mr A. Clemott, without reserve. On Thursday, the loth, they will sell at the C»mbndec jards, fat rattle, fat sheep, store cows, dury cows, B.c. On Saturdiy, the 17th, they will hold their usual horse at Camhridce, when they will ofler 40 useful horses of all kinds. On Tuesday, the 20th inst., they will sell at the Ohaupo yards, 000 head store cattle, including 100 quiet 2-yr-old ":tcer^, choice yearling steers, mixed cattle, 2i and 3 yr-old steers, prime f»t cattle, dairy cons, &c, Btc.
