SUPPOSED CASE OF SUICIDE.
An cldeily man named John Lamont, well known in Cainhiul^ti as i sott of prophet, and authority on sciiptuie, is supposed to h.vvo committed biucide. Yesterday (Friday), he left hnine dm ing the morning, and did not return, and his absence from home being somewh.it unusu.il caused suspicion. His clothes were found by Constable Brennnn on the b.ink of the river near Hally's mill. V search will be made foi the body to d.iy. The following letter was found in hii house "— " M.ijor Wilson, 1 lcive it all to jour own honour. You will hud all family piiticulais by writing to my brothei James Lamont, at Christclnuch. Good bye."
