Milk Without a Calf.
One of the most remarkable incidents that ever came under oar observation, has occurred in our herd of Holsteina, at the Sinclairvilla atock farm. Bennetta 6102, H.H.8., wfts knported by ns from North Holland in the spring of 1883. She wai then one year old, never proved to be with calf, bat about six wetka ago we discovered milk oozing from her teata. She showed no udder developments, and consequently had no power of retaining the milk. We immediately commenoed milking her, and though at first ahe gave but very little milk, ahe steadily increased the quantity, and consequent growth of udder, until at present writing she ie giving 25 poundi per day, and shows ft fine udder. She is not a twin, and is ft atraight, beautiful heifer, and we considered it a great misfortune that ahe proved barren. She is ft mystery to »11.— Country Gentleman. B. B. Lobd & Son.
