On the motion of Captain Steele, seconded by Mi I'iinnose, it was n'-nhed "That the secu-taiy send the petition to Mi J. P> Wh\te, M.H X , hy to-moi tow's tiain fm ptesentatioii to Path uncut, togethei with the lettet to Mi Whyte, appio\ed by the meeting." 111 1 was stated by the tieasurer that the amount collected towatds the cost of getting np the petition amountod to some £!1, which would leave a deficiency of about £20. It was i esolved that members of the League nidi udunlly sliould canvass foi subscriptions to meet tlio deficiency, and it was hoi)ed that the public would libotally re-pond to the appeal.
