At a meeting <>f the directors of the Island Bay Kiicmg Company to-day, it was decided to In >ld a race meeting at Inland Bay on September sth. It is understood that no formal addicss will be delivered by the Governor on the opening of the Exhibition, but that Sir J. Vogel will deliver an address, and request his Excellency to declare the Exhibition open. Charges of selling "Rough on Rats" against Mr Gordon, chemist, the box not being labelled "p«ison,'"or the address of the vendor on it, and against Mr George Gee, chemist, fornot cnteringthe tale of a similar compound in the sale of poisons book, were heard at tho R.M. Court to-day. The cases arose out of the recent fatal i»i*oning cases. Both wore remanded until Saturday.
