Tnn " pink of perfection " in dinner table diaplay appears to have been reached at a feast described by the Neio York Mail : " A pretty fancy called ' a pink dinner ' waa recently given by a young married lady of Orange to eighteon gueats. The largo round difliny table waa lighted by candelabra holding pink candles. In the centre of the table was a lar/?G bed of pink roses, thvea feet in diameter, that dissolved at the close of the dinner into bouquets for the ludie3. At each plate was a knot of pink rodes. The menu oards were pink. Even the bread wa3 tied up in pink natin ribbons. The various coux-pea perforce did not change color, but the climax of this well appointed meal wa3 reached when the Koman punch was served in pink pond liiiea of enduring 3hape."
