Hood horses are in demaid, and sell freely, especially those suited for contract work. At Ohaupo on Tuesday, 30th inst, although a very wet morning, winch kept many -<tock from comtng foiw.ird, there was a good muster of all clas~.es. Young stock weie eagerly competed for, buyers prefeiring to buy now than later on. (rood steers, li and 2 yrs old, were yarded in full numbers, and elicited keen competition, all celling. Those from Otago ranged from £12 for an unbroken two-year colt to £30 for a young draught mate, and £30 for a four-year-old gelding; medium draught, up to £17 ; and useful riding hornes, fiom £7 and upwards At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, sound hides brought from 3d to Id the 1b ; the greater pait from 3^l to 3 f 'd ; tallow, IDs to 20s 3d the cwt ; sheepskins, fiom Dd to 2s lOd each. At Pukekohe on Monday, <m average muster of cattle sold fieely ; useful cows, from £"> 5s to £7 15s each. At Remuera. on Thursday, dairy cattle weie numerous and at lower values ; no stole cattle offeied ; fat c.ittle in full number. NOLAN'S WKKKU Rkpokt. — Horses : There has been continued activity in the market, and although no material advance in price haa been made, above .in average number of sales were effected. The Durham Yards were well filled on Friday, and there was a good attendance of purchasers, the attraction bi-ing a Hhipment of draught horses from Taranaki. Competition waa steady throughout, and in many instances prices exceeded the expectation of vendors. We quoto hacks fiom £2 ."a to £13 5s ; light harnc-s, £'J to £15 2s IJd ; medium and heavy di aught, £IS 10s to £2(i 15s. Wool, hides, Hkins and tallow : Hides of good quality weio in demand, but those pitched were lighter than the previous week, 4d pel Ib. being the highest price obtained. Skins, Is 'Jd to 3s 2d. Cattle : The number yarded has been up to the average, and the demand has been a coriesponding one, with consequent little alteration in value. Fat beasts yarded at New mat ket on Tuesday, although in less than usual number weie sufficient for requirements, and there was certainly no advance on the previous week's rates. Dairy and store stock weie fanly plentiful at Newmaiket, and theie was a large muster at Pukekohe on Wednesday, which found purchasers. We quote calves from 10s to 255 ; yearling, from 15s to 27*» (id ; dry cowsjirom £2 10s to £3 os ; grown steers, £1 2s (id. Sheep were penned in moderate numbois, and .steady demand. Ewes, at lla to 13s Od ; wethero, light weights, 12s to l(»s (id. Pigs were y aided m increased numbers, and sold freely .it from 2'.d to 3VI per Ib. live weight. Mkvshs fi.'W. Binnky and Co. report that at their weekly sale, on Tuesday, of wool, hides, skins, and tallow, there was a further fall on all classes of hides.
