In tho House of Commons, the lion Mr Clulders, Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced that consider.ible modifications had boen made in tlic .Budget .since he made his Financial .Statement, owing to the fact that only nine millions of credit had already been expended. Mr Childeivs stated shat the increase of spirits would be only one shilling instead of two, as proposed, biit that the shilling duty on wines of 30 degrees proof would be adhered to.
