i CHUISTCHURCH, Tuesday Tlie City Council decided to-night to invite tin' local bodies interested in sanitary mattuia in and around Christ church to attend a Conference to discuss the ad \ inability of combined action in the diiectiun of medical super vision, and proper sanitary inspection. This action has been taken in consequence of the moribund condition of the Christchurch District Board of Health. The Canterbury Volunteers will have a field day at Ne ' Brighton, on May 22, when the new corps of mounted infantry, recently organised by Major Slater, will turn out for the first time.
