Iv the House of Commons to-day, Mr Gladstone, referring to the Irish question, announced a partial renewal of the Prevention of Crimei Act in Ireland, and stated that the Govern im nt at present were unahle to deal with the question of Irish local self <;o\ eminent, or to proceed with the Land Purchases (Ireland) Bill.
