STATEMENT BY MR GLADSTONE. THE QUESTIONS INVOLVED.
London, May 1">. Mr Gladstone to-day informed the House that the Government was awaiting a reply from Russia with regard to the portion of the Afghan frontier line which has not yet been delimited.
Loxdon, May IG. The D.iily News to-clay states that the point of difference between Kngl.ind and Russia on the Afghan frontier question does not involve any essential portion of the agreement recently come to by the two countries.
St. Petersburg, Nay IG. It is announced that His Imperial Majesty the O/ar lias despatched a letter of thanks to General Koinarofi" together with a diumond-hilted sword.
