TOWN OF RAGLAN HIGHWAY BOARD.
The annual meeting was held, on May 11th, m the council chamber*, Mr Mitchel in the chair. Mr Peglei then to..k t'»o chair, and lequested those present to e\press their \ie\v, and to bung any thing of importance tliey hid to considei before the meeting. The h irboiu boaid and other matters were then spoken of, and the Counties Act \va-> then considered. It was uioposcd by Mr Mitchell, second by Mr. Allen (Jilmour «nd carried nen con, " That it is requisite and neces-ury that the three disti ict road boards should be ,il>ol i«hed, and that the Counties Act be brought into operation in this district as soon as possible. After a vote of thanks to the retiring chairman, acd the .same to the chairman of the meeting the proceedings terminated. Krgret was expiessed tli.it Mr Mitchell had retired fiom the board, aftei being chairman and tiustee for main ye.ii«.
