The dispute arose from an attempt on the part of Mrs Barker to debar the public from the u.se of the road to the whaif which had been in use since the formation of the settlement. He had asked Mis Barker to have tho matter settled by summoning him to court for trespass. Wilson's Road, Waioronkouai.— Ro taking a road through Wilson's (Thames High School Reserve) property, Waioiongoniai, a letter vvas received fiom tho Crown lands office to tho effect that the titlo m the case of the High School endowment iva* issued under " Tho Thames Boys' and ( Jirls' Nigh School Act, WB," and is datid ith July, 1884. It is subject to the right on the piit of the Clown to take nccen«iiiy loids through the land as provided by section 10)! of tlie "Native Land Act, 1873."- Tlie clerk was instructed to write to the Chief Surveyor, .inking him to recommend the Governor to take the road under tho provisions of the act named.
