Lour) CiitvwiLLi: and Mr Gladstone announced in both Houses of Parliament to-day th.it the Go\ eminent had received a telegram from Sir Peter Lumsden, stating that there was no foundation for the report that the Russians had advanced from Penjdeh and occupied Maruchak. General Lumsden further stated in the telegram that tho Aftghans are still at Biilamarghat, to the south of Maruchak, on the Murghab river. The Admiralty announces th.it naval pensioners and members of the Royal Naval Reserve are required to be in readiness on short notice.
