CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. At four a m to-d.ay a fire occurred in the ol'i Post Office, Market Square, occupied by Mr W. J. Foster, as a cheap restauiant and lodging-houee. The rooms .it the nottli end of the building were gutted. Seveial people weie sleeping on the premises All escaped, though tlu>y lost their belongings. The building : bi longs to the City Council, and was insured for £300 in the New Zealand o^cc. Fostei's furnituie is insured for JtiJJOl) in the same office
