ATTEMPTED MURDER IN AUCKLAND.
A msTUtnn affair happened on Thm-day afternoon in Mrs Bou/.an's bnaiding house, ill Customs-stieet West, Auckland, near Gleeson's Hotel. A seaman named MeKelvio, a foimer lovei of tho landlady's, enteied tho house, and in a fit of jealousy shot a man named Stewait, who was theie at the tune, and who was asked by Mi* JJon/an to render assistance, as «ho was afraid of McKelvie. Three bullets took effect, "lie entering Stew ait's head, anothei his jaw, and a third Ins side. McKelvie then succeeded in getting away. Stew ait was subsequently conveyed to the Hospital, whore his ca.se was attended to by tho House Surgeon.
