Friday. The Haibour Board, in committee, yesterday discussed the circumstance* connected with the grounding of the Ruapelm last week. The board eventually decided that as there had been no eulp-ible negligence on the part of the pilot bib sci vices should be retained, but it was rtsolxed to be more caieful in futuic. It w..is also decided that the board could not be held responsible for any loss sustained by the grounding of the steamer, the opinion of Mr Gully and others being to the effect that the Harbour Board was simply to provide competent pilots. In the Divorce Court, a decree nut was granted in the case Waller \ . Waller (W.mganui), and also in the case of Smith v. Strike (Wanganui). In the latter case the jury awarded £50 damages against co respondent. The latter* solicitor obtained leave to move for a reversion of the verdict, on the grounds that not sufficient evidence arose that co respondent knew Mm Smith was a man led woman.

DUNEDIN, Thursday. The Royal Humane Society of Auntralnsia has bestowed a silver medal on William Potiki, the Maori lad who made »uch l>ia\e cxeitions to save the Rev. Mr Morice, at Port Molyneaux.
Wednesday. In the Divoice Court to-day Judge Williams gi.inted the petition for judicial separation by Catherine Hagan against Robert Hugan, of Waikotomiti, on the grounds of being cruel to her. Alimony allowed to petitioner was 15s per week. The parties had bten married since 1869, mid the maltreatment began eight years ago.
