A telegram d.iU'd Aj)iil Ist, from (Jeueral Ivom.uolJ to the Ku-.si.ui (Toveininent, published, explains th;it lie summoned the AH'^li.ins to evacuate the position. This, however, acting under ad\ ice from British officers piesent, they declined to do. In order to support the demand CJeneral Ivomaroll' ordered tlie troops to iidv.ince, still counting, however, on a pacific issue of the dilHculty. On the approach of the Russians the Atlldi.ins opened fire on them, and followed with an attack on the cav.ilry, whereupon Ciener.il Kom.irort' felt compelled to order his troops to commence hostilities, with the result that the kittle w.is fought as already stated.
