Proverbs.
Bi: not deceived. A politician never tells (he truth except by accident. Never count thy chickens before they are hatched; neither suck an egg until thou hast bbaken it. Forewarned is forearmed. Therefore, when the collecter faith he will call to-morrow, prepare thyself by looking thy door and hangis, q out a sign, saying : " Gone to the country." Marvel not at the loud voice of the campaign orator. Nature hath given (be M strong lungs. Should the vulgar man kick thee with hii boot, make haste to leave him, lest he repeat the offence. Boast not of thine anoestry. Chicken stealing was as common in thy grandfather's time as it is to-day. Appearances are deceptive. Even the street dude may disguise himself aa a gentleman. Blow thine own horn, if thou hast one ; if thou hast not, blow thy nose. Make aome kind of a noise in the world, at all hazards. When thou meetest a pretty woman, itare bard at her. She may mistake thee tot a foreign nobleman. Let the world know that thou doit not care a d for it, and thou ihalt find thyeelf greatly respected.
