WVIKATO MUIKETS. Mnssns W. J. Hlntck & Co report that at tho Cambridge Yards on Thursday, the 19th inst., tlieie was a full muster of cattle, and a very large one of sheep ; but few beef sold, only immediate requirements being wanted. About 2000 sheep %v et c bold out of 3000 offered. Fat heifers, £4 10s to £"> fa 6Vf ; fat flteers fiC 17s 0d ; "tore 2-ye irold stert's, £2 12s (id ; Lincoln ewes 9s fid ; ci <i-,bred owes, 7s fid to 7s 0d ; ditto, (low condition), 4s 3d; store Merino wethers, 7s lid. Aft the Cambudge Horse Sale on the 21st, a very large number of horses were brought forward. Good competition existed, principally for medium draughts. We quote : Hack-,, £t to £7s los ; medium draught, £12 to £17 ; draught hikes, £13 2s (id each. At the Ohaupo Yards on Tuesday, tho 24th, there w.ia rather a small muster of cattle, but a large one of sheep. The cattle were principally young stock, which sold fanly well. Dairy cows were in good demand, and all sold. Grown bteers enquired for, but lower in price. The sheep yarded were for breeding purposes and (fid not sell at auction, buyers wanting Hh.vn for fattening We quote : Dairy cow s, £0 to £7 5s ; calves (steers), from 24s to 33s ; yearling steers, £2 ; 2-yr-old steers, £3 to £3 10a ; 3 yr-old ditto, £3 12s 6d ; fit cows and heifers, £4 to £5 ; store ewes, 6s to S-s ; lambs, 5s Gd to 7s 3d each.

Horses were yarded in less than usual numbers, and mostly of a light deBcuption; they sold freely, and theie continues a good demand for horses suitable for tramway or omnibus At the hide, skin, and wool sale held at the Haymarket on Tuesday, sound hides ranged from 3d to 4d the Ib. ; sheep sold from 8d to 4s ."id each ; tallow, from 18s to _2">s <>d the cwt. ; longwool in grease, from ogd to Ojd tho lb. At Panakura on Wednesday, a moderate muster of stock of all kinds met with a steady sale at late values, and all brought forward .sold satisfactory. At tho Haytnaikct on Thuisdav, for dairy cattli* bidding was dull ; store cattle weie also in less request. Fat cattle were yarded* in full number, but the improved values ifi last week were sustained. The Durham yards were well filled on Fuday, competition was steady throughout, and most of those entered were disposed of, but in some instances vendors' expectations could not be reached at auctions, but afterwards better counsel prevailed, and the animals weie disposed of at market rates. We quote: Hacks at from £(} to £18 10s : light harness borse.s, at from £13 to £20; heavy quiet diaugl>t<s £20 to £23 10-. ; medium draught, £20. Wool, hide?, and skins : A largei quantity than u-.ual wore pitched on Tuesday :it the Durham yard", but the quality of the lots submitted was rather inferior, and prices ranged : Wool, at from s}d to 7£d, in grease ; skins, at from Is 3d to 2s 3d ; hides, from 2jd to 3fd. Cattle: The number of fat beasts offeied has been quito up to the average, with httlo or no alteiatlon in values ; dairy and store stock lathor scarce, value unaltered. The supply of f.it beasts yarded at Newmarket, on Tuesday was an adequate one ; bidding was slow, but almost without exception prices realised came to anticipations of tenders. Few dairy cows weie yarded, and generally of second-class descriptions. Prices ranged at from £0 to £9 10*. Stores : But few yarded ; alterations in puces nominal. At Mr Young's sale on Thursday, Fukekohe, there was a good attendance of purchasers, and .in advance of fully 10s per head on market rates were given for the stock. Sheep : An average number were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday, and prices had a slightly upward tendency. Wethers hold at from 13s Gd to lo's fld ; ewes at from 5s fld to Kis Gd. Lambs ; Not very good, and sold at from 7s to 12s Cs. Pigs wore in raodei ate supply, and sold freely at from 3d to 4W per lb., li\o weight. Mkhsks G. W. Binney and Co. repoit that at their weekly mIo (on 24th inst.) of wool, hides, skins, and tallow, good competition existed for all lines offered.
