The total reserve in notes and bullion, in in the Bank of England, is £18,300,000, an ad wiuceof £900,000 during the week. Pioportion of reserve to liabilities, 49 per cent. Now Zealand securities : 4 per cent 1040 loan has ad\anced to 10.") 1 , ; P, per cent 1879-1904 loan has advanced to 101 I; 4 per cent inscribed stock has advanced to 99. Colonial breadstuff's and tallow are without quotable change. Wool. —At to-day's auction 9900 bales were catalogued. Hale quiet, and prices generally (except for crossbieds) ruled \t\ lov\er than at the close of last auction. The quantity withdrawn from sale since the opening of the .series, is 3300 bdle«. The third series of auctions will commence on June tth, and the quantity to be ay ailable is estimated at 350,000 bdles.
