FIRE NEAR KIHIKIHI.
Mil McDonnells home was burnt down about 1 p. m. on Thursday. Mr*. McDonnell went out to call tho children into dinner, and then went on with them to wlnue Mr McDonnell was at work to call him <>l-<>. On the way to tho house they noticed tho flames coming through the kitchen, ,iml short as the distance was, the whole house wan in flamed when Mr McDonnell not there. Ho only succeeded in wni};.i few bed-clothes, which he snatched off a bed, the flames beinj,? so fierce that ho w.n driven back. I am sorry to say he is a heavy loser, for he had only £12"> of insurance on it. His loss will thcrrfme be .ibout £'lr)ooverl r )0over the amount insured, as he lost p\ery thing ; not .in aiticle of clothing >\,is saved. — ((iwn Correspondent.)
