The Labour Market. Despite the cry of anover-crowdodlabonr market, nearly all the >oung men, numbering about 100, who atuved by the Doric about a foi tnight ago, have obtained employment. A considerable propoition went up country, and found work amongst fanners.
Defence of the Colony. The Chamber of Commerce to-day passed lesolutions urging on the Government the importance of coastal defence.
Accident. Mr Chas. Brown, traveller for Macky, Logan, Stcen and Co., was brought into town suffering from a fractured skull, through falling from the Wangarei wharf on to the deck of a steamer.
Discovery of Human Remains Mr Kay, contractor, working at the rear of the Fitzioy Hotel, discovered two human skulls and some human bones in a cesspit.
