LECTURE AT OHAUPO.

On Friday evening the Rev H. R. DewsImry delneied his lecture on " Tom Hood," in tin* Ohaupo school house. Nearly one hundred people were present. Mr Dewsbury's fluent delueiy, earnest and nn-pie->siv_e manner, together with the very attractive form in which the subject was handled, riveted the attention of the audience for upw.»rd» of an hour. The recitation of a few of Tom Hood's most familiar pieces evidently gave the keenest enjoyment. Musical selections precedod and followed the lectuie. Miss Rhoda Walker played a pianoforte solo in a first das-, style. Mr Rulgley sang " Tin Scout " which was m >-.t de*ervedly encored. He responded with "John Bull," w Inch wa» equally good, and judging from the applauso, the audicuo would have welcomed him again on the platform. Mr C. Hunter sang " Wo Tars That on tlu Ocean Sail," and later on "Mrs Jonas' Music xl Party," both with good effect. Mi Hosking g.ivo " Dream Faces," enoied, and subsequently "I Seek for Thee in Every Flower." Miss Hunter, whose song.s are always appreciated, sang " IJermot Asthore," most pleasantly.
