One Love Alone.
By S\rah Col^patb
Shots throngh my veins a keen and liquid flame, One face alone, one f&ce alone, These eyes require ; But when that longed-for eight i 3 shown, What fatal tire Shoots through my veins a keen and liquid flame, That melts each fibre of my waiating frame 1 One voice alone, one voice alone, I pine to bear ; But when it 3 meek, mellifluous tone Usurps mine ear, Those slavish chains about my soul ara wound Whioh ne'er till death itself can be unbound. One gentle hand one gentle band, I fain would hold ; But when it seema at my command, My own grow 3 cold ; Then low to earth I bend m sickly swoon, Like lilies drooping mid the blaee of noon.
