General Gordon, in his last despatch of tho Mth December, abandoned nil hope, and said that the f.ill of Khartoum would be England's fault. Several English officers are offering their services to the Sydney contingent. Sir George Mac Lean, K.C.M.G., lias given a donation of £500 to the Sydney Patriotic Fund. February 26. A battery of nine-pounders, with the neeess iry equipments, supplied by the War Depot for the New South Wales Artillery, has been despatched to Suakiiu.
