BvNKUUPT Lk^skE"?. — On the motion of Mr Welln, it wns agreed that the Minister of Crown Lnnda 1)8 requested to le-enter on the nectinn* named in the board's letter of tho 28th January, WB3. RKDtcrioN ok Rknts.— The Chairman reported that lie had seen the hon. the Minister for Land* dunug his recent u*it to, the district, ou this mutter. He punted out tho hardships of tho case and improved him with the necessity of some concession being made in the matter. Mr Balance had expressed himself greatly pleased with the manner in which the board had administered the affair* of tho domain trust, and prouised that ff a reduction weie at all possible he would do what he could in the nutter. Ho hud asked that a. letter be Bent in to the department embodying the request »f the board. He (Mr Wells) suggested that this should be done, and would ask that the board meet again on that day week for the purpone of drawing up a suitable letter on the subject. Suggestion agreed to. Dkkaultinc. liEasKKS.— The mutter of defaulting levees, who for some tune have been behind in their rents w.is discussed. It wan finally agreed to gi\e notice that .ill rents in arrears since hut quarter d iv, (10th November), nxist be pud forthwith ; and that the board will meet on Saturday next, to discuas proceedings against all who may then lie defaulters. Thi.s was all the business.
