CONCERT AT CAMBRIDGE.

— -♦_ Thk concert given in the Cambridge Public Hall <m Thursday evening by Katph Hood's Concert Company was an enormous success, the hall being tilled to the doors with & highly appreciative audience. The programme was varied and very attractive. It commenced with Verdi* beautiful trio, given by Mr* Revitt, Mi« 9 Stephenson and Mr S. R. Keeping, and charmingly rendered.^ Mm Kevitt'* two »ontr«, "(Jood Night " and " Vasbti," were both encored; -<lie sanp them with greu.t tju-te. Miss btcpheuson captivated tho audience with her rendition of t\\ o Hong,., •» Waiting " and Verdi's " All ' Fora o Leri," both receiving an encore. Mr S. R. Keesing sang " Aftnrwards" and "The Blacksmith's Hong" magnificently, and iecei\ed a phower <>f bouquets A number of duets wen- alsa sung, which gave great pleasure to every one, the "Sol IV* and •"Gobble Duet* being encored twice. Mr Ralph Hood quite iu»toni<<hed the audience by his amazing pov\or< of execution. He performed four pieces m a most marvellous manner, and received an encore for each. Hi- pieces were "La rionnambula" (Thall>erg) and "Ltude « Polonaise (Chopin) Adagio and Rondo (Weber), and a piece on " Pinorah," compoM'd e\prensly ft>r him hy Brokotfski. His playing i« lx>3'ond cnticism, hi« touch Iwmg iK'ifection, and be seems to make tha piano «ing us if it were a human voice. One encore piece he played ("Minehaha') reminded us of a beautiful waterfall. Ho certainly has a glorious career before him, and we wish him every success. We bavo heard a gieat many pianists but none t<> equal him. Wo <„,ly regret wo shall not have tho pleasure of hearing him again, as he leaves for Europe shortly. Misw Donovan, acting as accompanist, performed her nrduous duties with skill and taate. The stage was moat beautifully decorated.
