A force, consisting of eighty British Hussars and some of the Egyptian troops, which wore despatched heneo to Hnndnk to burn it down, had effected their purpoie, and were returning to Suakim, when they wore surrounded by a largo body of rebels. Heavy lighting ousued, but the Hussars an<^ Egyptians succeeded in. effecting their osoape, with the loss of eight men killed, five of whom were Hussars.
C vino, February 4. Colonel Freeman tie, commanding the troops at Suakim, telegraphs to headquarters that the officer in command of the force of Hussars and Egyptians, which macß the sortie upon and burnt HanduJJ exceeded his instructions
London, February 5. It is stated that an agreement hns been concluded between th« British and Italian Governments, under which Italy will h«*lp England to establish a government in the Soudan, and will occupy Massownh, and perhaps, Souakim.
IioMK, i ebruary 4. A second Italian expedition, destined for Massowah, in the Red Sea, wi'l leave Naples on Sunday next.
Coxkt \xtinople, February 3. The Porte has sent a strong protest to Rome against the recent annexations by Italy on the Red Be* Coast.
