The average attendance during the year his been good, opuciall) during the December quarter, nfacn it re iched 27 0, and during the last month of the quarter 3D. Ihe examinations this }ear took pi ue somewhat later than usual, viz , in August, when the pupils passed tbcir examinations very credit.ib'y indeed; this jear more- than twotlurds on the roll were presented and onl> three failed. It is worthy of mention that during the past five jears the average of passes his been between 02 and IM per cent. Air Fidler, the inspector, reports . Your committee regret to report they urged the Board of Edui ation in vain to continue the same capitation grant as heretofore, and henco had to submit to a reduction of L 2, thus causing the school funds to have a small debit balance. The balance-sheet showed that the re cuipti foi the past year amounted to ±111 17s oil, and tlio expenditure to £12 lb> 7d, leaving a debit balance of lf!> 4d.
