Particular attention is diiected to clause 5 of the Sheep Act, 1878, Amendment Act, 1884, as follows • — If any Sheep infected with lice shall be found in any pound, or in any public yard or yards, or in any yaid or yards at which Sheep are offered for sale, the owners of the Sheep so affected shall be liable to a penalty of not less than one pound, or more than five pounds. DIAKO COUNTY. Notice of Intention to Levy a General County Rate. Notice is hereby given that the Piako County Council intends, at a meeting of the said council to be held at the Council Offices, Cambridge, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the 14th day of January, 1885, to levy a rate of three fai things in the £ upon all rateable propeity within the County of Piako, such rate to be for the year ending the 31st day of March, 18S5, and to be payable in one instalment on the 28th day of January, 1885. T7IOR SALE BY TENDER. A Locomotive Engine. TENDERS are invited for the PURCHASE of a LOCOMOTIVE, now lying at Waiorongomai, Te Aroha Goldfields. This engine, which is geared to l(3-h.p. (nominal), was built at the Thames by Messis. Price Bros, to order of the Piako County Council for use on the County Tramway, but has never been used and is now offered for sale, the Council having decided to use horse-power instead of steam.
