Attempted Suicide. Auckiaxd, Monday Ni«ht. A BUSHMAN named William Taylor living at Makarau attempted suicide when sufferim' fiom deleiinm tremens. He cut his throat with a razor, and was found by one of his mates endeavouring to open the wound with his finger. The wound is not serious.
Drowning Case. John Lazarus Peteison was drowned on Christmas Day, when endeavouring to reach the cutter Whaugarei,
FireA house occupied by Mr Bird, Northcote, lias been destroyed by tire.
Sale of Blood Stock. The annual sale of Mr Walters' yearlings took place at the show grounds at ElleioMe to-day. There was a laige attendance. A brown colt by Pisca-toiious-Yatteiiua was started at 100 guineas and passed in at a reserve of 300 guineas. A bay colt by AnterosRosaiina Mas passed in at the reserve 123 guineas. A Musket-Ouida colt was purchased by Mr P. Butler for 300 guineas. Tuiquoise was passed in, the reserve being '200 guineas.
