Alexandra.— Concert and Dance.
The concert at the Public Hall, Alexandia, came off as advertised, and in spite of the very boisterous nature of the weather there \v;>s a fair attendance, over £12 being taken at the door. The following piogrannno was gone through: — (herture, Okoko Band; Piano Solo, "Glohe de Dijon," Mr F. Gvierson ; Song, "Thy voice is Near' 1 Miss Finch ; Song, " Our Jack's Come Home To-day" Mr Rigg ; Song, '•Chiming Bells" Miss E. Stunner; Song, "Wedding Bells" Mr Frank McMinn ; Song, " Silver Rhine " MrPiince; Piano Solo, "La Sonnauibula," Miss Stunner; Song, " Pull A w.i y Cheerily "Mr G. Miles ; Imitations of Maccabe, Mr C. Johnson ; Song " Half Mast High " Mi*s Sage ; Song, " To-morrow " Mr Pi nice ; Song, " Courtship Lane" MrColenian ; Duet, " A Die^s for a wife and a dressing for a hu&band " Miss Finch, Mr McMinn ; Piano Solo, fiom "Norma," Miss E. S.ige ; Song, "The Skipper's Flag" Mr G. Rigg; Song, "Molly Asthore" Miss C. Sage; Song, "Wait till the olouds roll by" Mr F. McMinn; Song, " Ask Me Again" Misb Finch ; Duet, " Lord Lovel " Capt. C.ipel, Mr Charlton. All the pieces were well lendered, the singing of Miss Sage and Mr Rigg, and the playing of Mr Grierson were much appreciated by the musicnl part of the audience, while the comic duet of Misa Finch and Mr McMinn, and the concluding piece " Lord Lovel " fairly brought down the house. Mr Johnson's intimations also elicited desorvod applause, and were loudly encored. After the concert the hall was clpared for a dance, the music being provided by the Okoko Brass Band, assisted by Mr Grierson on the piano.
