Presbyterian Sunday school Picnic.
The picnic of the scholars attending the Presbytericn Church Sunday-school, Cambridge, which was to have taken place at Mr Brown's Bushy Park, on Boxing Day, was seriously interfered with by the weather. The heavy rain which fell early in the day caused the teachers to abandon their original plan, but finding that a large number of children assembled, and there being a temporary clearance of the sky, it was decided to take a drive in the country. Through the kindness of Messrs W. K. Carter, Allwill, Taylor, Simms, Brockleuby and other friends, this was accomplished, and all returned to the Public Hall, where ample justice was done to the good things which had been liberally provided. During the intervals of finn weather in the later part of the day, games were entered into most enthusiastically by the children, under the enegetic direction of the Misses Reed and others. A large number of toys were distributed during the evening, and the children went to their homes thoroughly pleased with the day's sport although it had assumed a form not contemplated in the original programme.
