CAMBRIDGE ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of the above board was hold at the town board office, Cambridge, on Friday last. Present: Crs. Hough ton (chairman), Lewis, Hewitt and Gillctt. Depastumng Cattj.k in Town.— Some discussion took place on this question. — Cr. Hewitt complained that the town did not receive any benefit from cattle and horses being prohibited to depaiturc on the run. There was a large amount of good feed going to wa«te, and the very fact of its being allowed to glow along the sheets was a source of much annoyance to footpassengers after a shower of rain. He thought it would do no harm to allow depasturing on the run between bunnse and sunset. Again, it would be a great advantage to a number of poor people, who had no paddock and who made their In ing by their cows.— Cr. Gillett wab of the same opinion. — It was finally agi epd, on the motion of Cr. Hewitt, "That the urn bo open till the l>t May next for c.itfcle and hoises, between the hoins of six a.m., and six p.m. on the payment of a fco of 3s per head. Lki.TjMAN. — The gieat disadvantages of not having a recognihcd bellman for the town wab pointed out.— On the motion of Cr.
