WAIKATO HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The committee of the Waikato Horticultural Society met yestciday to consider the report of the sub-committee who had been appointed at the last meeting to draw up a schedule of prizes and to fiaine rules for the proper corrying out of the show. There were present, Messrs H. W. Northcvoft (in the chair), Sharp, Mason, Fonest, Yon Stunner, G. Edgecumbe, Dey and W. M. Hay. The report of the bub-coimnittee was. read and ordered to be received. It w <ib resolved that there should be three clasheo for competition, vi/., all comer*., amateui , and cottager^ ; al&o that life inember-<hip of the association bhould be fixed at two guineas. After a geneial discussion upon the subcommittee s report, it wu» resolved to convene another meeting for Monday. Docamber 29th, same time and place, to further consider the sub-committee's repoi t and to re-cons>idor the question of the dal j fived for the show, whether or not it might not be to the advantage of the show to fi \ St. Patiick'h Day, the 17th March, as bein,' a holiday, theiefore the more likely t > bring \iaitot.s to the show. A letter was read fioin Mr Walton, of Te Awanmtn, .stating that Mr L.ike would act a-5 vice-pi evident for the Te Awamutu. Alexandra and Kihikiln hide of the district, and tliiit Messis Bertuun, Walton. Edwaicls and Moody would act as committeemen.
