THE TAMAHERE SCHOOL.

At the closing of the Tamahere school for the Christmas holidays, the children presented their teacher with an address, accompanied with a souvenir. It was spontaneous on the childiens pait, which indicates the pleasant relationship existing between teacher and pupils. Mr Lsemonger is about to sever his connection with the Tamahere school, and he takes with him the good wishes, not only of the children attending the school, but also of the community in general. Mr Isemonger has secured the head-mastership of the Kihikihi sohool, and takes charge of that school after the holidays.—(Correspondent.)

A .Scolding Woman.— The barbarities of the ducking-stoat for the cure of scolding women, though abolished by law, are now oftentimes practiced by a kind of social barbarity none the less reprehensible. Women srpld only when they are ill. Instead of biamipg them wo should prescribe Hop Bitters. The entire system* will undergo a genial, pleasant* change.
