RAGLAN MAIL SERVICE.
TO IHE KDirOlt. Sir,— Will you spare me a small space in your columns in refeicnco to Mr Johnson V mail coach service to Raglan. It ceitainly dues appeal \ery stiange that the postal authorities should not continue the coach service, which has been a great boon to Wh.itawhata and Raglan for the last three yeais. To retrograde again into a horse po.st after Mr Johnson's coach service is completed, will certainly not be in keeping with the opening up and improving the R.ighn district. Dm ing this period Mr Johnson has peifoimed Ins duties with the utmost satisfaction to the public, and we are unanimously of opinion that Mr John.son'h sen ice should be continued. We further state that a coach service is con ducive to opennif of inter-communication between the people of widclj .sepaiatcd districts, which should be the that duty of a Government. — I am, &c, A. Settler. Whatawhata, 11th December, 1881.
