Meeting of Creditors. A meeting of the creditors of James riaike, stoiekeeper, Te Aioha, was held this morning. The avssignee presided, and after a lengthy and animated discussion, in the course of which the bankrupt's conduct was condemned in strong tei ins, it was resolved on the motion of Mr McMillan, seconded by Mr G. W. Owen, "That this meeting deprecates in strongest terms the action of the bankrupt in not keeping a perfect set of books, and beg to call the attention of the Court to the fact that upon two previous occasions Clarke has compounded with bib creditors " It was also arranged that the whole of the property should be put into the market in suitable lots for sale by tender, the store to be offered as a going concern, with stock and book debts added. With this object in view the assignee's agent is at present working the business. Mr McMillan was appointed supervisor in accordance with the piovisions of the Act. The Races. S.idames was scratched this morning for all engagements at the Auckland Summer Meeting.
