PUBLIC NOTICE UNDER " THE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT ACT, 1879," SECTION 76. NOTICE is hereby given that propertytax under " The Piopcrty Tax Act, 1854," for the year commencing on the first day of Apiil, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, will be payable as follows : — (1.) In respect ot the duty of threeeights of a penny, where the amount of such duty shall be under two hundred and fifty pounds, tho same shall be paid on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundied and eighty-four : And w here such duty amounts to t\\ o hundred and fifty pounds, or exceeds that sum, the same shall be paid in two equal instalments, the first of such instalments being payable on the said twenty-second day of December, and the second ot such instalments on the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty five. (2.) In respect of the duty on fire, maiine, or guarantee policies issued by any insuiance company, the same shall be paid on the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five. And notice is hereby further given that the places in each district where the said tax shall be paid shall be any post office within f-ueh district which is also a money-order office, except in the distiict of Wellington, in which district the tax shall be paid at any such post office as afoiebaid, and at the office of the Property-Tax Commissioner, at the Go- \ eminent Buildings, Wellington. T)UBLIC NOTIFICATION. Waikato County Council. At the annual meeting of the Council above-named on the 26th November, 1884, James McPiierron was re appointed to be Clerk and Treasurer to the Council, Inspector of Slaughter-houses, Registrar of Dogs within the County, and Collector of all Sates and Taxes payable to the Waikato County Council. It was fin ther resolved that the said James McPheison be appointed Returning Officer for the respective lidings of Kirikiriroa, Tamahere, Cambridge and Cambridge ISorth, as well as for the Jtangiriri Outlying District, and for the County of Waikato generally ; that these appointments shall have effect from the date above mentioned, and remain in force until revoked by resolution of the Council. It was resolved to establish the County Office at the residence of Jag. McPherson, on section 261, Parish of Kirikiriroa, and that the office hours shall be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Saturdays, Sundays, Christmas, Good Friday, and public holidays excepted, and further that all rates, fees and taxes payable to the Waikato County Council shall be, and are hereby made payable at the said office during tho office hours above mentioned.
