WELLINGTON, Tuesday.
The Trades and Labour Council have decided t o give a hearty support to the proposed Industrial Exhibition, and the Council have expressed a desire to have an iutemew with the Colonial Treasurer on the subject. Wednesday. Mr George Fisher, the present Mayor, Mr Petherick, junior, and Mr George Allan were nominated for the Mayoralty to-day. An information for misdemeanour has been laid against Mr Waring Taylor at the instance of Mr Arundel, one of the creditors in the bankrupt's estate. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of accused, who is believed to be residing in the country. Later. The oharge against Mr Waring Taylor is for misappropriating moneys received for the sale of certain Bank of New Zealand shares left to Mr Ernest Arundel by Mr May, who died some years ago. Taylor is at present residing at Buller. The steamer Uawea from Lyttelton had a narrow escape of going ashore outside Wellington heads this morning during the foggy weather.
