Tklkgrams are to hand from Paris announcing that the French Go\ eminent has received dispatches from the Soudan reporting that Gener.il Gordon had been shot at and killed while proceeding from Khartoum to Berber. No confirmatory intelligence has reached Sir Evelyn Baring, and he discredits the statement contained in the Paris telegram.
