THE WRECK OF THE CLDYE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — PRE&S ASSOCIATION.] CitRISTCUOi)CH, Monday. In connection with the wreck of the Clyde, arrangements have been made for proper care of the sole survivor, Gibson, and for recovering atty bodies washed ashore. The scene of the disaster was a long low reef known as " Snullle Nose," running out from the east side of Horse.shoe B »y, between that bay aud Long Bay and seven miles from Ak<iroa harbour. Several narrow escapes from similar disasters have occured in. the vicinity, and steps are being taken to urge on Government the necessity of stationing a lifeboat at Akaioa.
