[Received October 22nd, 1 p.m.] Sydney, Wednesday. Sailed, yesterday afternoon : Hauroto, for Wellington. In the Legislative Assembly last evening, a resolution authorising the construction of a railway through the city to the circular quay was passed by 23 to 13.
Adm.vidk, Wednesday. In the House of Assembly last night, a lengthy debate took place on Mr Mattmgson's motion reflecting upon the action of the Minister for Works in dismissing the Locomotive Superintendent. A di\ ision was, however, avoided by the House adopting unanimously an amendment to the motion moved by a Government suppoiter.
