FISHER'S GRAND OPERA BOUFFE.

This company aie announced to make their hr*>t appearance at Hamilton to-movrow night, commencing a short season of two nights only. They appealed at Cambridge on Monday, Tuesday, and last evening, when they were fa\oured with large audiences. Speaking of this company, the Canterbury Times of July 21>t says :— " On (Satin day night the Theatre Royal was opened by the Fishei Berlesque and Pantomime Company to a full hout-e. The performance went lemarkably smoothly fiom fn-,t to last. Tt commenced with the opeietta of the " Hwi.is Swains," which was played by the Misses Jessie and Kate Howard, and Messrs Fisher and Cram in a manner which at once secured the sympathies of the .audience, and put them in good liumour. Aftciwards came the burlesque of " Rude of Abydos," which was mounted and dressed in a manner .superior to anything seen for some time in Christchurch. As Selnn, Miss Jessie Howard looked charming, and acted and sang with spirit, and the same may bo said of Miss Kate Howard as Zulicka, and of Miss E. Wallace as Zobiede. As the Pirate Mirza Mr Fisher was irresistibly funny, and he was ably seconded by Mr Cram as Giaffir, and Mi* Alexander as Osman Bey. Mr St. Clair as Haroun was very good, his dancing being deserving of special praise. The other characters were all well filled, The feats of the flying Voltigeurs and the amusing burlesque of Donald Dinnie's performances creating roars of laughter. Tho whole concluded with a comic pantomine, including a transformation scene .specially piunfced by an eminent artist, Mr Briggs, which is equal to anything ever seen in this city," The performance tomorrow night will be held in the Oddfellow's Hall, Hamilton East, and at the Public Hall, Hamilton West, on Saturday night.
