Fun.
B has two trait 3 in his charaoter apparently contradictory. He is very fond of the society of ladies, and he is excessively careless in the mattev of clean linen. The other day he said to a friend, " My dear boy, I had a charming experience the other evening. 'Twas at a very nice party, and, strange to say, I did not know a single woman in the crowd ! " " Indeed," said his friend, " you must surely have been at a party of washerwomen 1 " __ ** Delights of the Countby. A Parisian who has been living in the country for a few days is asked if he does not find it' dull. " Oh, no, not much. The first day of my arrival there was a big fire in the village ; the next day a mad dog made things nice and lively ; then a bull broke loose and went on a tour of inspection ; then a villager tried to commit suicide, and we had a deal of trouble to bring him to life again after dragging him out of the water — in fact, for the last eight days, I have not had time to feel the least bit dull; it has been very nice !
