The Mcunos, as in foimoi yeais, weie in stiongest fence, .md many of thee weio .is ncai pci faction as powblo. Sjmmctiy of fomi, lobustness of constitution, quality, density, and truenc-s of fleece — in fact, all the essentials necssaiy to foun ,i pei feet, flne-woolled, sheep — weie piesent in some of the snpeib animals in this section, md we question if any othei countiy in the woild could piodnee sheep to comp.ue with, much less excel them. The championship for the best Meiino ram in the shew Mas awarded to the e\eentois of the Lite Mi John Cummin?, of Teiinalliun, for a large-framed animal of noble piesenee, canying a longstapled, heavy fleece of excellent quality, though somewhat yolky. The long woolled section, although infciioi to tl.c Mi'imo in point of numbeis, w >s veiy attiactive, many of the animals exhibiting, in lespect tohame and fleece, all the mliei ent qualities of the Kn^lish Liucnln. Some noble specimens of this famous lueed weie shown, and we doubt if their fleeces, as iar as fineness, length, and lustte aie concerned, could be further improved. A two-tooth ram. owned and bred by Mr Thomas Bath, of Ceies, was a notable example, his wool being of a very high giade, of great length, and exceedingly soft and lustious- The champion in.m prize in this division was won by Mr R. Hood, of Merang, and the champion ewe puze by Mr W. Robeitson, of The Hill, Colac. Other fiist-prizetakeis were Messis T. and S, Austin, of Mount Pleasant, Mr T. F. Parker, of Quianiong, and Messis McFarland Brothers, of Barooga. Altogetlier, the show was a gieat miccps«, for although the exhibits weie but slightly in excess of last year, a large number of celebrated stud flocks wete repiesent^d, and we tiustthe time is not far distant when sheep fiom the neighbouring colonies, which the quarantine 1 emulations now exclude, mil be able to compete, and thus gain for the exhibition that representative character implied by its name.
